Police Search for Suspects in Venice Beach Stabbing

Officers of the Los Angeles Police Dept. (LAPD) are searching for at least two suspects who reportedly stabbed two men Saturday evening on the Venice Beach boardwalk, it was reported.

According to the Associated Press, the two men were stabbed on the Venice Beach boardwalk just before 10 p.m. on April 19. Both men, reportedly in their 20s, were transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators of the LAPD reportedly believe two suspects were involved in the stabbing, which might be gang-related.

News reports indicate the two victims were reluctant to talk to detectives about the stabbing.

Detectives reportedly hope their investigation will be aided by potential witnesses and any available surveillance video.

At least two other stabbings on Venice Beach’s boardwalk received significant media attention in the past six months.

A 23-year-old man, Guillermo Carmona-Perez, was reportedly found stabbed near Washington Boulevard and Pacific avenue on Nov. 18, 2013. Two months later, a suspect was arrested for the murder of Carmona-Perez.

About two weeks after the arrest, another man was found stabbed 10 times on the Venice Beach boardwalk. The victim underwent surgery and reportedly survived.

The Jan. 25 stabbing occurred near Breeze Avenue and Ocean Front Walk.

It was not reported where, specifically, along the Venice Beach boardwalk the April 19 stabbing took place.
